Along with continuing the study of syllabus oriented teaching learning process, department also actively engaged with numeral cultural and social activities. The department in its leisure time also arranged performing arts such as Drama, Classical Dance and Paintings etc. Students are also active in all these activities. The pupils of the department every year enthusiastically take part in NSS and field work. Departmental Wall Magazine, ‘Reminiscences’ in every year portrayed the artistic skill of the students. Besides, departmental teachers are fond of directing drama (performing theatre) and (composing poems) in their vernacular languages.
The department organised national, state level seminars and lecture series programme to help the students to developed their faculty and critical investigation towards literature. One National Seminar on Environment and its Praxis, One Seminar on Ramayana and Mahabharata and one International Webinar on Drama were also organised.
However English department is growing day by day and now we have a big family. We believe in quality not in quantity. The knowledge is more important than marks and hence our dept always awarded the marks on the basis of subtlety, punctuality, right judgement, proper evaluation and minutely observation of the pupil and their learning oriented activities. ‘Knowledge is power’ is the motto of our department.
