The main objective of the department is to impart the knowledge of plant science to the students of the rural areas through practical and field work besides studying in class. In the current pandemic situation, online classes have been arranged so that they do not lag behind their targets and they are advancing their botany practice through audio-visual learning. With the help of online platform Google Meet, students are continuously taking classes and their respective class notes are also being provided on Whatsapp, email and sometime in college website. Over time their study evaluation are being done through Google form and Whatsapp.

In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the department proudly introduced Botany as a Major discipline from the academic year 2024.
